The Independent has reported on fathers who are jailed for missing child support payments.
The newspaper reports that it expects at least 50 parents to serve sentences for missing payments to the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission (parent to the Child Support Agency).
Critics argue that the punishments are disproportionate, and that jailed parents are less able to financially support their children or maintain relationships with them.
